Error during raster creation/ cannot view ras commands
Added by anna diederichs about 4 years ago
Hi Everyone,
I am having a strange issue with viewing and creating rasters. I get an error message when I try to use any ras command or view the documentation for terminal.
For example, rashgt returns:
ERROR: unsupported raster image format: RAS
Valid values for the GAMMA_RASTER environment variable: SUN_RAS, BMP, TIFF
This never used to happen and I am not sure what is going wrong. I recently updated to the July 2020 version of Gamma and am thinking maybe something went wrong during the update but I am not sure where to start to fix this.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Sincerely,
Anna

Hello,
It makes a difference if you use upper or lower case. We can have a look at this
to make sure that both ras and RAS are accepted.
You should set the default raster data type to either BMP or TIFF. Sun raster is
supported for historical reasons, but is not widely supported in other software
anymore.
Best regards,
